Plans count components, one for each running part of a Kamal app: a web role, a jobs role, Postgres, Redis. Never per server, and no surprise usage charges.

An add-on for Solo. Each pack watches 10 more components above Solo’s 30. Add as many as you need; there’s no cap.
Free is the way to try Upstate. Solo starts when your first payment goes through.
Solo renews each month or year until you cancel. Cancel any time from Billing and keep Solo until the end of the period you paid for.
Over your plan after a downgrade? Existing components and durable receipt evidence stay. Metrics are pruned under the current plan’s retention and cannot be restored by resubscribing. New additions are blocked, and a 14-day grace period applies before some alerts and Rails metrics pause.
The latest production receipt stays available on every plan, even past your history window.
Prices are in US dollars. Any applicable taxes are shown at checkout. See the billing, cancellation and refund terms and the full terms of service for the details.
Yes. Account owners cancel from Billing, and the account keeps Solo until the end of the period you paid for. Then it moves to Free. Resources and durable receipt evidence remain, while older metrics are pruned under Free’s retention periods and cannot be restored by resubscribing.
Monthly plans aren’t refunded; cancelling keeps access to the end of the paid month. On an annual plan, email us and we refund the remaining whole months, counted from the end of the current billing month, packs included. Duplicate charges and billing errors are refunded in full. Removing a pack gives no credit. Account owners close an account themselves with Close account in the app; closing gives no refund, so request an annual refund first. The details are in the billing, cancellation and refund terms .
Adding a pack is charged right away, prorated for the rest of your billing period, and your limit goes up at once. Removing a pack takes effect at your next renewal with no credit; your limit stays where it is until then.
Resources and durable receipt evidence remain, and new additions over the limit are blocked. Older metrics are pruned under the current plan’s retention and cannot be restored by resubscribing. For 14 days everything keeps alerting. If you’re still over after that, the newest components beyond the limit stop alerting (they stay visible) and Rails app-health and request metrics pause account-wide; other monitoring continues. If a renewal payment fails, the account works as Free until the payment succeeds.
No. The Free plan is the way to try Upstate, and it needs no card.
Operational facts such as resource usage, container versions, health results and request timings. Never environment values, database contents or application files. See exactly what leaves your server .
